General Organization activity is concentrated on producing with sugar from manufacturing sugar beet and refining raw sugar , in addition to manufacturing ( soft and dray yeast ) , and other manufacturing ( vegetable oil , alcohol , soap ) .
Our organization has four sugar companies work on production sugar from beet, one company work on manufacturing sugar from beet and refiner , accompany works only on refining raw sugar only , in additional to three independents yeast factories ( shappa , Harasta , and Aleppo ) other yeast factory in Homs sugar company.

| The General Organization for Sugar is one of the public (Governmental) Industrial Organization. It is a subordinate to the Ministry of Industry of the Syrian Arab Republic. It was established in the year 1975.
The General Organization for Sugar specializes in the construction and development of Sugar Industry and its derivatives and supervises over its subordinates; the relevant Public Companies and Factories. As well as constructing projects related to this Industry and which is commissioned to do within the framework of the Economic plan of the state.

المراحل الرئيسية لتصنيع السكر الأبيض من الشوندر السكري عبر الأقسام الرئيسية
لمعمل السكر كما يلي :
استلام الشوندر :
يستخدم قبان لتحديد وزن الشوندر الذي يتم دفع ثمنه للمزارع ، ثم تؤخذ عينات
ويتم تحليلها من حمولة كل جرار أو شاحنة لمعرفة درجة الحلاوة ونسبة الأجرام ،
ويتم تفريغ الشوندر في أحواض واسعة 0

ينقل الشوندر من
الأحواض عبر قناة نقل الشوندر بقوة دفع الماء حتى مضخات الشوندر التي
ترفع الشوندر مع الماء من القناة الى قسم الغسيل حيث يمر الشوندر على المراحل
التالية في هذا القسم :
نازعات الأعشاب
لاقطات الرمال والحجارة
تنظيم تيار الشوندر ( شبكات معدنية )
غسالة الشوندر

تستخدم دارة مغلقة
لمياه النقل والغسيل بهدف تخفيض نسبة الاستهلاك وتعالج المياه بالترقيد أو
بالترسيب أو إضافة كلس حي لرفع
